Windows 11 and Windows 10
Add a keyboard layout to type in Georgian. Installing a font does not add a keyboard.
- On Windows 11, open Settings → Time & language → Language & region. On Windows 10, use Settings → Time & Language → Language.
- If Georgian is missing, use Add a language to add it. You do not need to change the Windows display language.
- Under Georgian’s Language options → Keyboards, check for Georgian (QWERTY). Use Add a keyboard if needed.
Switch with Win + Space. With QWERTY, A types „ა“ and B types „ბ“.
macOS
- Open System Settings → Keyboard.
- Next to Text Input, choose Edit, then the add button (+).
- Search for Georgian, preview the available layouts and add your preferred one.
Switch from the menu bar or with Control + Space. You can configure Globe/Fn to change input sources in Keyboard settings.
Linux
In GNOME, open Settings → Keyboard → Input Sources, add a source and search for Georgian. Other desktops may call this Input Sources or Layouts.
GNOME’s default switch is Super + Space; Super is often the key with a Windows logo. You can change it in keyboard settings.
