Install a font on macOS

Open and install the font

1. Double-click the downloaded ZIP in Finder.
2. Open the .ttf or .otf file in the extracted folder.
3. Choose Install in the preview window.

Font Book checks the font and reports problems or duplicates.

Check Font Book

Open Font Book and search for the installed font. Use File → Validate File to check a problematic file. If a duplicate is reported, review the versions before deciding which to keep.

Use it in an app

Reopen your app and select the font. Bold or Italic may appear under the family name in a separate style menu.

Browser-based services decide whether and how they support installed fonts.
